Still Scrapping

Digital Candy has a ton of challenges that the post each month and for some unknown crazy reason I decided to try my hand at a bunch of them. Here are some of the results.

I believe this first LO was for the Hodge Podge Challenge.

For this LO, I used a brand new frame from Chrissy W that should be arriving in store soon as well as my favourite kit Spring Fling from Patricia Armaral. The greenery is from Tara Dunstan.

This next LO is for the Bubblegum Challenge. I used a kit by Vicki called Beach Holiday.

Here's my colour challenge layout. I used Digital Chaos' kit called Dear Diary. I love this photos! It always makes me giggle!

Next came the Scraplift challenge. For this LO, I used a kit by Katef called Monsterous and also one by Tara Dunstan called Foxymoron. The photo was taken after my dd's first birthday party and just as she went in the bath. I think the smile is priceless and devilish.

And last but not least is the Lyric Challenge. I knew as soon as I heard the song that I was going to use this photos of Emma finally jumping off a diving board. She is affectionately know as "our little chicken!" So this was a momentous occasion.

Kit is called Splish Splash by Kim Hill and I also used Sunshine Sweets by the Sunshine Girls.

You know, I had so much fun doing these challenges that I will certainly do many, many more!

Scrappin' is Happenin' at my House!

Yippee! I got more layouts done today. It's been so fun because I have really been trying to spring out of my box a bit and so far it's going really well. I have also been looking back at some of my older photographs which is also fun. Right now I have 9 HUGE 12x12 and 2-3 inch think traditional scrap albums and I want to start scrapping some of the photos in them over again but digitally now. Needless to say, this makes for some pretty cool reminiscing.

Today I completed 2 more layouts.

The first one is called Explore. I wandered over to one of my favourite digi stores called Pickleberry Pop and snatched up a few new kits. The entire store is 25% off right now so it's pretty tough to resist. For this layout I used a kit called All That Twitters. The template is by Chrissy W at Elemental Scraps and can be found in her Jael'icious set.

My next layout is called Beautiful and is done using another kit from the Pickleberrypop store called Foxymoron by Tara Dunstan. The template is by Britt-ish Designs.

3 new Layouts and all quite different

WooHoo! Finally, I have gotten some scrapping done. My SIL is here from North Carolina so the girls are quite busy with here which allows me a little time to play.

Chrissy W emailed me a new template to play with as well as a new product in her store. Her new item is called Paper Cutter Strips and you can grab them at Elemental Scraps. They are really cool to play with. I always had trouble working with them when I scrapped the traditional way but I am loving the digital results. Here's my layout. I used a kit from Digital Scrapper to create my LO.

My next LO was done using a new template by Chrissy W. If you keep your eyes open to her blog she is likely to be posting a new challenge soon and I have a sneaking suspicion that this template may be part of it. Here's my take on the LO using the new Mango Tango kit from Sunshine Studios. I also tried my hand at doing an extraction but I am not convinced that I like the results. Maybe I will leave those to the pros from now on.

And last but definetly not least (seeing as I like this layout the best) was a challenge that I posed to myself. I always love the look of layouts with tons and tons of layers and stuff on them but I always struggle making them not look cluttered. For this layout I just kept adding more and more things to it and in the end I couldn't be happier. I think the key to these layouts is using a very simple neutral background paper. The kits I used for this layout was Kim Hill's Pink Sherbet and Holliewood Studios kit called Life is sweet.

I've been in a slump

Somedays, I find it tougher than others to scrap and lately I am finding that a lot. I have a million fabulous photos and a million wonderful kits and I just don't know where to start.

I finally completed my second layout using the kit from Trish H Designs called Sunset. For some reason or another this kit really stumped me. I know that I really like it I just struggled with making it work. Well I finally completed the second layout with it and I actually love it. I did darken up the gray paper to more of a black to suit the LO but that's all I did.

The other layout I did was for the Candy Jar Challenge at Digital Candy. I love these challenges because they force you to work with products that you may not normally choose. First you download the Freebie kit and then to complete the challenge you much use all the items in the Candy Jar and any others of your choosing. When you are done you just upload it to Digital Candy, link it the challenge and your done! Super easy and super fun. Here's my layout for Digital Candy Jar #19.

Are you up for a challenge?

Head over to Chrissy's Blog and snag her fabulous template freebie. She has posted a challenge and 2 winners will recieve $5.00 coupons for her store at Elemental Scraps. Seeing as I am lucky enough to be on her creative team, I have already had the chance to play with this new template and I must admit that I love it. Especially, if you have one fantastic photo that deserves to be showcased on it's own.

Here is my take on the template using a kit by Melanie Ann Designs called Sweetie Pie.

I can't believe I almost forgot

I just finished this LO the other day using the Spring Fling Collection mentioned in my previous post. But much to my disgust, I almost forgot to share it. I love this LO too. I love the photos, I love everything. The template is by Chrissy W.

My Favourite new kit

It really unusual for me to do 2 page layouts. I don't know why I don't do them often because I really do like them when I'm finished. It's probably because I tend to only scrap 1 or 2 photos at a time. I like clean, uncluttered layouts.

Yesturday, we took the kids to the local splash pad for the first time this year. I took a ton of photos and couldn't wait to scrap them. Needless to say, my fridge didn't get cleaned out as it so desperately needed, instead, I created a new layout with my favourite new kit. It's called Spring Fling Collection by Patricia Armaral.

Template is by Andrea Gold and Alphabet is by Chrissy W at Elemental Scraps.

Kim's Bright Summer x2

It's so relaxing to sit down at the computer and do some scrapping. For me it's an escape. It's a way to be crafty and a way for me to chill out. Last night I got 2 layouts done with Trish H Designs kit called Kim's Bright Summer. I knew I wanted to use some swimming photos with these papers because they are so bright and fun and I knew the pool water would just pop against these papers. Needless to say, I took Emma out swimming just so that I could snap a few photos for the first page. I already had the page completed but I needed some photos to go on it.

The template is by Chrissy W and it can be found in her Mixin' it up Set.

The next layout is also using the Kim's Bright Summer bit. The wordart is by Elegant Wordart. If you haven't checked out her blog you must! She has some of the best wordart I have ever seen and I use it constantly.

The template is from Janet Phillips. It came in a supersized template grab bag and the entire set is fantastic. I am generally not one to purchase grab bags but for $4.00 I did and I am glad I did. Here's the link if your interested.

Just One for Today

It's a new month at Digital Candy and this month I have the pleasure working with Trish of Trish H. Designs. The first gorgeous kit of hers that I have the pleasure of working with is called Sunset. Of course in true Shannon style, the second I got my hands on this kit I completed a LO. It's a very simple layout but honestly, I love it!

The other kit that I am going to be playing with is called Kim's Bright Summer. It's full of bright bold colours and I am totally excited to use it on some of my summer photos. I will definetly be sharing the LO's as soon as I get them done!

Geez, I just didn't realize!

Ok, I have always known that I am a template junkie but last night I decided to try and count my templates. I got up to 430 templates! That isn't including any album templates. I am sure I could add an extra 100 if I added in each individual page for each album set I have. All I can say is WOW! My poor hard drive. No wonder I have 44.1 GB worth of digiscrap kits and templates on my computer.

Anyways, I have managed to get a few more LO's done in the past few days.

This first one I did using a Chrissy W template from her Angelicious 2 set. For this LO I used the kit called Beach Holiday designed by Vicki for Scrap N Art.

The next layout was also done using one of Chrissy's templates from her Angelicious 2 set. The kit used is the July Mega kit at ScrapOrchard.

Ukrainian Dance

My daughter really wanted to try dance this year but I wasn't will to shell out the crazy amount of money that they charge for normal dance lessons. So we signed Emma up for Ukrainian Dance. I am happy to say that she loves it. It was totally cheap and tons and tons of fun for her. This week is the Villages Festival in the city where I live so Emma has a performance every night for 4 nights. It is so fun to watch. The adults are absolutely amazing and the kids are just plain cute.

Anyways, here is 2 layouts that I have completed about my daughters dancing.

Both Templates are by Chrissy W at Elemental Scraps.
Kit is called Walking on Sunshine with the exception of the blue papers. They are from Amy Blesser.
