OMG, more layouts. Can you believe it?

2 new layouts for tonight. First up is from Natalia's birthday. For anyone who doesn't know me, I HATE scrapping holiday photos. They are all the same, kids opening presents and eating cake. There is really no excitement in scrapping these. Oh well, I gave it a shot and here is the results from Natalia's birthday.

Black paper is from the kit called Doodle Me Happy by Angie Kovacs and Bella Gypsy. Everything else is by Kate Hadfield at the Lily Pad. Template by Laurie's Scraps.

Next up is a template by Jen Caputo and a kit called Where the Heart Grows by the Golden Girls.

My first layout using Spirit of Summer

I am in love with the bright colours in this kit. It really is a beautiful kit. Everything from this layout is from the Spirit of Summer Kit. You can find more information in the previous post.

Help our Friends in Australia

As some of you may or may not know, my in-laws are currently living in Australia. They happen to live only about 20km from the wild-fires that raged through that country. A little too close to home in my eyes. I received an email today from Studio Flergs. She had some information about a HUGE collab kit that you can get, if you donate to the relief funds in Australia. Here is a little preview of the kit.

I believe it includes over 160 papers and 300 elements created by over 30 designers. The preview is linked. You can have it for only a $5.00 donation made to either the Australian Red Cross or Salvation Army. You make they donation directly to them and send proof of donation to Carolyn Kite. Easy as pie and for a great cause. If you would like more information you can go to Studio Flergs Blog. The photo of the koala, on her blog, nearly broke my heart.

Thanks for listening. This is something near and dear to my heart and I am in no way involved with any of this. I just feel that it is something worth donating to.

More layouts

Who would have thought that keeping up on two blogs would be so tough. Oh well, at least I am here now.

First, I must say...have you seen the site http://thedailydigi.com/? OMG, it is the best! It's one of the first things I look at everyday and today, I went and found this amazing designer, Kate Hadfield! Her stuff is absolutely adorable. Especially if you like doodles and I am totally getting more and more into them lately, thanks to my fab. SIL, Jen. She can rock a doodle like something I have never seen. Needless to say, after checking out this chicks amazing designs, I think I bought out half the store. Here's my first layout using all stuff from her.

Next up is a layout using Chrissy's newest freebie at ES. You can find it in the challenge forum. The kit I used is a collab between Chrissy W. and Angie Kovacs. It's called Our House and is available at ES.

My assigned designer this month at ES is Lucky Smith. She has some gorgeous designs up for grabs over at ES. I choose to work with her brand new kit called Spring Parfait. I love the soft colours blended with the striking black and white pattern. Here is my layout, I also used a template from Pencil Lines.

I also want to share 2 more layouts with you. The first is a layout that I totally love but to be honest, I can't remember what kit I used. I have searched high and low to figure it out but I have no idea.

And my last layout is Week 7 of my Project 365 layouts. I used a template from moriginals and the coloured papers are from Everyday Celebrations by Audatious Designs. Elements from the W&W kit called Life 365.

As always, you can click to see a larger image. Thanks for taking a peak at my layouts.

The word Wild is created from an alpha by CD Muckosky and is called Happy Dance.
The small black sticker letters are from Angie Kovacs at Elemental Scraps.

If you haven't noticed, today is Monday and that means new releases at Elemental Scraps and also a template Challenge with Chrissy. Needless to say, with all of this greatness going on, I have been scrapping like a machine.

First up, is my layout done with Chrissy's challenge template. You can find more information about the challenge here. My layout uses a kit by Doodle Me Happy by Angie Kovacs and Bella Gypsy. I also used Angie Kovacs Mini Alpha Stickers. These are some of my new favourite little things in my stash. These letters are so perfect for multi-word titles.

My next 3 layouts all use Chrissy's newest template set called Angie'licious 4. I was so inspired by these templates that I couldn't resist using 3 of the 4 templates. Maybe today, I will use the 4th one. Now that I am doing Project 365, I have a ton of photos to scrap.

First up is "Long Cold Winter" a layout using a Mega kit created by the Designers at Digital Candy called Cold as Ice.

Next, I once again used Bella Gypsy and Angie Kovacs kit called Doodle me Happy.

And my last layout using Chrissy's new template set is called Bookworm. It uses Tracie Stroud's beautiful kit called Ginger Breeze.

One last thing, if you are wanting to check out my progress on Project 365, I have been posting all my photos and layouts here on my family blog.

Hope you have a fabulous day!

Lots and lots and lots of PINK!!

2 new layouts and a bit of pink overload!

For this first one the kit is called Love it. It's a collab made by Jannylynn and Juno Designs at Elemental Scraps.

The template is new from Angie Kovacs and is called Give Me Space.

The small black letters are also from Angie Kovacs and are called Mini Alpha Stickers.

The next layout was completed for tonight's speed scrap at Elemental Scraps. It was a great challenge. Every 10 minutes they give you a new guideline for your layout. You must complete your layout using all the guidelines but you made add things as needed.

Once again, I used the kit called Love it as well as Angie Kovacs adorable little alpha stickers. They are my new favourite little goodies. The greenery is by Waterloo Designs and the flowers are from Kate Winiecki.

Emma's artwork

Lately, Emma is constantly drawing pictures and making things. The other day she gave me trouble for not keeping it all out everywhere for everyone to see. I really can't blame her for that but the shear volume of things gets a little out of hand. I have often heard of people who take photos of their kids work rather than keeping it. So I tried it. It is actually a really good idea and to top it off, Emma was THRILLED that I created a page using all her artwork.

For these layouts, I used the Kit "Life 365" from Weeds and Wildflowers.

Totally in LOVE

Ok, so I am officially, and completely in LOVE with Chrissy's new template set. I just finished another layout with it. You can find the link in my last post.

I used Angie Kovacs and Jennifer Barrette's new collab kit called Day Dream Believer. It is absolutely AWESOME!!

A new week and some new goodies at ES

I LOVE Mondays, they are the day that Elemental Scraps releases all their new goodies. This, of course, means that I get tons of new stuff to choose from and play with.

Chrissy has a gorgeous new template set out called Round We Go. If you love circles, than this is the set to grab. Personally, I struggle with circles, so I took on these layouts as a challenge and I was THRILLED with the results.

Up first is the free template for the ES Template Challenge. You can find it here.

For this layout I used Chrissy's gorgeous kit called Lizzie May.

My second layout was created using the Round We Go template set that is for sale in the Elemental Scraps store. For this layout I used a fantastic new kit by Leslie Bodoh called Inked. I love rich, deep colours and this kit fit the bill perfectly! Plus, it game me the added opportunity to scrap my adorable nephews, Ethan and Owen.

Nana Buffins

So, if you happen to follow my other blog you may already know that Natalia and I baked muffins today. I think I took about a million pictures while we did this and I was super thrilled with the results. She was totally being cute for the camera and of course I LOVED it. When I have a great photo day like this, I just have to scrap it immediately. Here are the results

Fabulous New Chrissy Templates!!!

My friend Chrissy, over at Elemental Scraps has just put out a fantastic new pack of templates that are designed around the digital phenomenon called Project 365. You can check out my project here. The template pack is called "A Photo a Day {Project 365}!" I would be lying to you if I didn't admit that this is my favourite template set of Chrissy's ever! It even beats the set called McTurtlicious that she designed after getting some inspiration from my layouts!

Here is what I have come up with so far.

1. Success, at last!

Kit is called Touch of Winter by Nikki Scott at Elemental Scraps.

2. Winter, Thru my Lens

Kit is called Slippery Slope by Angie Kovacs and Chrissy W. Alphabet by Joanna Cinnamon. Snowflakes by Ellie Lash.

Layout made just for me!!

So, yesturday, I sat down and the computer and finished 2 layouts just for me! Nothing in these layouts was used for creative team purposes. I did the layouts using whatever items were screaming, "Pick me!, Use me!"

First up, is a tribute to a very special person in my life who passed away in October. The kit is called Unforgettable by Ziggle Designs at Scrap Orchard.

Next up is a layout about Natalia. It's hard to believe but next Saturday she will be turning 3 years old. I cannot believe how fast time flies. It honestly doesn't seem like that long ago I was pregnant with her and now she is 3!

Kit is called Sweetie Pie by Melanie Ann Designs and the glass button over the photo is from Leslie Bodoh.

My first Layout from Project 365

Week one of my Project 365 is completed and I have already done my first layout. I decided to keep things very simple to make it easier. I find it really tough to scrap several random photos together. This week I went with a layout template from moriginals. I loved that this template allowed be the ability to use both large photos and journalling. I want journalling to be a big part of this project. I want to know why I took the photos that I did. For the kit I choose a really neutral one called Touch of Winter by Nikki Scott at Elemental Scraps.

Here are the results:

My photos for my 365 project today were all about Play-Doh. I captured so many bright and cool photos that I just had to scrap them separately. For this layout I used black paper from Valorie Brown. And everything else, including the template, are from Sweet Genevieve at Oscraps.

Don't forget to check out my family blog at www.vahlfamilyhighlights.blogspot.com if you want to see more of the Project 365.

Just another layout!

This one is all about Natalia. She is so serious when she paints. It's absolutely adorable. It wouldn't surprise me if one day she decided to become an artist.

This layout was created using Angie Kovacs template from her newest set called This and That 1. The kit is called Fairytale Playground by Lucky Smith. And the absolutely fantastic font is by CD Muckosky and is called Free Spirit.

A total ES product layout

I am so proud of the fact that this entire layout is made with ES products. It was such a kick to make. I think my family completely lost it at supper tonight so I had to scrap about the antics that went on. Here's what happened. Emma will never look at a can of whip cream the same way again.

Kit is called BFF 4 Life by Angie Kovacs and Chrissy W.

Flair button was made using Leslie Bodoh's Button Creator.

Template is from Angie Kovacs newest set called This and That 1.

And last but not least all of the shadows on this layout were done using a fabulous shadow set called PS Drop Shadow Styles from Angie Kovacs.

I also want to take this time to mention a new project I am working on. It's called Project 365. Basically, what it is, is a challenge to take a photo a day for a year. The idea behind it is to not only capture your everyday life for a year but also to improve your photography skills. Sounded like fun to me so I thought I would give it a try. You can watch my progress on my family blog found here at www.vahlfamilyhighlights.blogspot.com. Feel free to slip over and check it out.

Long time no post!

Geez, do I ever feel badly. It's been forever since I have posted photos on my blog. To be honest, with the holidays and life it general I haven't managed to scrap too much. Oh well, I'm back and ready to share. I have a few things to share today.

This first item is a mini album I made using Chrissy's newest brag book template set called Something the BRAG about. If your anything like me you absolutely hate scrapping holiday photos. All the pictures seem to be the same. I plunk the kids in front of the tree with their presents and watch them open them. It really doesn't allow for too much excitement in the photo department. This is how I solved that problem. This is Christmas through the years...Brag book style!

For the entire book I used the Elemental Scraps December Mega kit called Funky Wonderland.

Did you know that Elemental Scraps is now hosting fabulous weekly challenges. Chrissy W has opted to host a freebie template challenge twice a month. I am so excited!! I love challenges. This first layout was completed using Chrissy's first challenge at ES. You can find out more information here. The kit I used was a Christmas blog train freebie called Whimsical Winter.

And last but not least is a layout using a gorgeous new kit by Angie Kovacs, Leah Riordan and Chrissy W. It's called Kiss my _! It is due to be released at ES tomorrow Jan 5th and trust me it is so worth the purchase. It's an awesome kit filled with tons and tons of cool goodies! I also used one of Chrissy's templates from her template pack called Mixin' it up FOUR.
