One thing I love and One thing I'm not sure of

Ok, so I think I will start with the one thing that I'm not sure of. Chrissy W. has a new freebie template challenge on her blog. Hey, if your are up the challenge you even have a chance at winning a $10.00 gift certificate to her store at Elemental Scraps. As part of her creative team I get the pleasure of an early peek at her newest goodies. This template has stumped me since the beginning. Well, I finally buckled down and did it. I am totally not sure of the results. I like the layout but I don't love it. For this layout I used a beautiful charity kit put together by the ladies at After 5 Designs to help out a fellow scrapper. I love these kits. You are supporting a good cause and they are usually jam packed with a ton of fabulous goodies. This one certainly didn't disappoint. Kit is called Artemia.

My next layout is just a fun challenge that I did to earn points towards a gift certificate at Digital Candy. This is their desktop template challenge. They provide you with the desktop template and you get to make it yours. Well, I was searching through some Christmas kits from last year and came across this real cool set of elements by Amy C Designs called Grinchy. I just had to use it. The tree, ornaments and Santa hat are all from that collection. Then, I grabbed this fabulous kit called Hoppy Christmas from Elemental Scraps for the frog and wordart. I love my calender.

New kits from Elemental Scraps

Elemental Scraps recently celebrated their 3rd Birthday and for that event they released tons of new goodies into the shop. I have used several of the beautiful kits and I have a few layouts to share with you.

1. Bright Eyes

For this layout I used Valorie Brown's kit called True Colours. The template is by Sya's Blueprints.

2. Blue Eyed Girl

This layout uses the kit called Forest Life by Juno Designs. The template is by Sya's Blueprints and the Wordart is from Elegant Wordart. I must also give a huge shout out the my fabulous Sister-in-Law, Jennifer, for the fabulous photo of my Emma.

Chrissy has a new template set out

I have been dying to post these layouts since I completed them. I did them for Chrissy W. She launched a new template set today at Elemental Scraps. They are celebrating their 3rd Birthday today and there is about 40 new products in store and big sale going on. All three of these layouts use this new set of Chrissy's called Angie'licious 3 .

1. Do you believe in Magic.

First I must put out a huge Thank you to my Sister-In-Law Jennifer. These photos are of her daughter Ava. I needed some really magical shots to finish this layout and these photos are perfect.

The kit is called Dream about Christmas by Natali Designs. The Alpha used for the word Magic is by Flergs.

2. Storm

This photo was taken a few hours after a tornado ripped through the Fergus area in 2005.

Kit is called Rainy Day Blues and was a gift from Jen of Chaos Lounge at Digital Candy.

3. Seriously

Honestly, I'm not trying to kill the kid. I only wanted to take her photo. She looks like she is posing for a really bad passport photo. This photo totally makes me laugh. Emma was really annoyed with me when she found out I scrapped it.

Kit was a freebie by Mag called Sakura Bloom.

The two cutest little men, ANYWHERE!!

Seeing as I don't have any little boys of my own, Jen, was kind enough to let me borrow some photos of hers. I had some awesome little boy kits to work with and I needed some great photos to use with the kits. This first layout is of Owen. It was done using a kit by Calalily Designs called Boys Rule. Template is by Sya's Blueprints.

This next layout is of Ethan. I used a new kit by Valorie Brown called The Best Gift. It should be release at Elemental Scraps tomorrow as part of their birthday celebration and sale. Template is from Chrissy W's newest set called Angielicious 3. It will also be released at Elemental Scraps tomorrow.

This month at Digital Candy, I am working with Calalily Designs. The first kit that I am working with is called Princess in Training. It's a super cute kit filled with soft colours and doodled elements. It's absolutely perfect for little girls.

For both layouts I used templates by Sya's Blueprints and the background paper is from Natali Designs.

My Last 4 Layouts

Here's my last four layouts for the Fall Scrap-a-thon at Digital Candy. It has been so much fun. I love scrap challenges.

Layout #5 Scraplift a layout of Christie's.

Here's my layout using a recoloured paper of Jennifer Barrettes. Otherwise this is a total scraplift.

Layout #6 Scrap a layout based on a song.

I used a kit called Colourful Nature by Juno Designs and Anja J. Template by Chrissy W. Light streak and sparkles by Martencja Designs.

Layout #7 Scrap an Imperfect Photo

I used a kit called Simply Irresistable by Digital Design Essentials and I based this layout on a template of Chrissy W's from her template set McTurtlicious.

Layout #8 Change up this template by Christie Lemmon.

For this layout, I used the kit called Kaylee's Kaleidoscope by Flergs.

My First 4 layouts for the Fall Scrap-a-Thon

Ok, so Digital Candy is having a Scrap-a-thon. Basically, you have to scrap 8 layouts in 3 days with specific, yet simple, instuctions to follow.

Layout #1, Use 2 Black and white photos and some kind of Sparkle.

Kit is called Penelope by Flergs. Template by Colie's Corner.

Layout #2, Scraplift something from Rachel's Gallery.

Kit is called Cottage Chic by Flergs.

Layout #3, Use a photo in a shape other than square.

Kit is called Cold as Ice by the Sweet Tart Team at DC. Template by Pencil Lines.

Layout #4, Use a One word title and atleast one crumpled or worn element.

Kit is called Foxymoron by Tara Dunstan Designs. Worn overlays by Something Blue Studios.

And, if you are wondering why I am doing this. It's because there is prizes involved and who doesn't want some prizes! Honestly, you should check it out. It's tons of fun!

2 new and very different layouts

Both of these layouts have photos that were taken over the past 2 days. As you can tell I am not a chronological scrapper at all. The first one is from October 30th. I used a yin template and a kit from Elemental Scraps called Too Cute to Spook by Jennifer Barrette and Sweet Digi Scraps.

This next layout is one that I whipped together quickly today using one of my new purchases from Digital Design Essentials called Penelope. The template is a freebie from Colie's Corner.

Happy Digital Scrapbooking Day!!

Still Scrappin' Baby Emma

This time I did a page of Emma as a newborn. All three photos were taken the first day she was home. Wasn't she adorable?

For this layout I used a kit called Flutter Fresh and a freebie template from Vinnie Pearce. The wordart and alphabet are by Natali Designs.

Another baby Emma layout

I am shocked at myself for forgetting to post this layout here. I must be feeling nastalgic because I keep going back to photos of Emma as a baby. She was such a bald little cutie!

For this layout I used My Girl by Anja J. The wordart is from Natali Designs.

Oh man, do I ever love the grab bag.

Ok, so I am at it again. I am so in love with the kit in the grab bag by Angie and Chrissy that I couldn't help but use it again. There are many other fabulous things in the bag but the kit is the BEST!! You can find it here. And, if you keep your eye on Chrissy's blog you just might find a new freebie template soon. It's a great one!! Trust me, I got to play with it already.

Here's my layout.

I have also been working on a few other layouts lately. The first one is using a bit by Designz by Kristi and Amanda Kay. You can find it at Digital Candy. It's called Black Tie Affair.

The last layout that I have to share tonight is a fun one. I love looking back at this photo of Emma. I miss the goofy little baby grins. It's seems like so long ago that she was this little I miss those days. Natalia made some goofy grins too as a baby but not quite as cute and silly as Emma's were. For this layout I used a kit called Happy, Shiny, Day's! by Little Mrs. Liz at Elemental Scraps.

Do you want a great deal?

Do you want a REALLY great deal? If you do you absolutely HAVE to check out Angie and Chrissy's new store at Elemental Scraps. Until October 31st they have an amazing and I mean amazing grab bag for sale for only $3.00. You really can't beat the price. There is a full size kit plus lots and lots of other goodies from both Angie and Chrissy. Of course, seeing as I am on their creative teams, I got my hands on this fabulous grab bag already and this is what I made. Everything on this page (except the photo :) ) can be found in the bag.

Yipee! I got an appointment for tomorrow.

I am going to see the eye doctor tomorrow. I can't wait to get new glasses. I know it's going to help. I am definetly going to have to keep this pair far away from Natalia.

I did manage to get one page done today. It is of Natalia when she was only two weeks old. Oh how I miss those days. The kids are getting so big so quickly.

for this layout I used Jennifer Barrette's kit called Apple of my Eye. Template is by Angie Kovacs and can be found in her newest template set called May I have Another word.

I think I need new glasses.

Unfortunetly I haven't gotten nearly as many pages done lately as I would like. I have been getting these brutal headaches when working at the computer. The other day it took 5 advil and a tylenol #3 over the course of about 5 hours to finally ditch the headache. I am thinking that I need new glasses. I usually don't wear them while on the computer, just for reading, but I think I may need them for the computer as well. Too bad they are broken at the moment. I think I'll be calling the eye doctor tomorrow.

Needless to say, I only have one for today. Chrissy has a new kit coming out tomorrow at Elemental Scraps. It is called Lucky Bum and will be on sale for only $1.00 but only for tomorrow. Then it goes up to full price. Here's my layout.

Thursday, October 16, 2008

This is my girl!

To me this photo is totally Natalia, my mischievous, trouble making, Natalia!

Kit is called Parker from Digital Design Essentials. Template is from Chrissy W's set called Gotcha Cornered.

Oh how I LOVE these templates

My buddy Angie Kovacs has come out with these AMAZING new templates. They are gorgeous and include fantastic wordpaths on them. They are totally cute and a refreshing change in the template department. If you want your own set of these templates just head over to Elemental Scraps and grab them. Here is the link... May I have a word?

For this layout I used Natali Designs kit called Fall Delight.

One more just for me

Another layout using a template and kit by Kay Miller. This kit is called Simple Pleasures. I think this is probably my most favourite photo of Natalia and her Daddy together. I snapped it today as the three of us were cleaning up and playing outside. Daddy had just helped Natalia climb a tree and she was thrilled!

2 layouts just for me

No creative team work with these layouts. These are all for me. One of my favourite designers, Kay Miller, had a sale and of course I had to snatch up some great new kits.

Here's my layouts.

Of course, these next two layouts are creative team work for Elemental Scraps. The first layout is done with a gorgeous bright collab kit from Juno Designs and Valorie Brown. It's called Rainbow Punch. The template is by Angie Kovacs and can be found in her new set called May I have this Word.

I also picked up this fabulous set called Pumpkin Pie Spice. It's a kit filled with fantastic fall themed patterned papers. The layout also uses elements and wordart from Natali Designs.

Time to jump out of the box!

This layout couldn't possibly be more out of the box for me. But, I love it. I am so thrilled with the results. Chrissy W. created this new kit call Favourite Place. It will be available starting October 10th and if you grab in on the 10th it's only 1.00. You absolutely can't beat that price. It will be available at Elemental Scraps. I also used one of Chrissy's templates for this layout. It's from her {Still} Mixin' it up set.

This is one of my favourite photos of Emma. I took it when she was only 2 years old with a brand new camera. For whatever reason I am still drawn to this photo. I can see the focus in her face as she plays in the sand. I think that must be the draw for me. It's one photo that reminds me of the time when Emma was so young. She has really grown up too fast.

2 more for today

Ok, so my scrapping mood has been pretty pathetic lately. It's probably because my husband is away in China and so I have been on my own with the girls. I can honestly say that I would never make a good single parent and I am in awe of all the people that do single parent their children. My husband is my life-line to sanity and without him I am going a little crazy.

Anyways, here is what I have managed to do lately. The first layout is done using a template by Chrissy W and a kit by Designz by Kristi and Amanda Kay. The kit is called Black Tie Affair and it is gorgeous. The wordart is by Natali and the paper tear is from Jen Caputo.

This next layout is one that I finished about a week ago and I didn't think that I liked it but the more I look at it the more I like it. The kit was a sampler freebie by Paint the Moon.

Probably my favourite layout to date

I love this layout! I love the photograph, I love the kit, and I love the template.

The template is from Chrissy W's newest set called With this Ring. It is my absolute favourite set of hers. The kit is called Lovebug by Jennifer Barrette.

I also wanted to put a plug in here today for the company called Inkubook. It's a photobook printing company. I had a 8.5 x 8.5 book printed by them. They are giving away a free book up to 120 pages. Anyways, I printed a soft cover book with about 120 layouts of Emma and I am thrilled! The colours are gorgeous, the photos are crisp and it shipped pretty quick. I think the total I paid was about 15.00 for shipping. The only think that you need to keep in mind is that their books are 8.5 x 8.5 instead of the normal 8x8 so you need to resize accordingly. I only had my book resized for 8x8 so there is some white showing on the tops of my pages but this really doesn't bug me at all. This company is definetly worth checking out seeing as the normal cost of a 120 page soft cover album is only 28.95 and that in itself is crazy cheap.

Psychedelic Funk

This month I am working with the fabulous Web Designz by Kristi at Digital Candy. The first kit that I have had the pleasure of working with is called Psychedelic Funk. It's full of bright bold colours with a 60's flare. For the layout of Natalia I used a template by Chrissy W from her Jael-icious set. and the layout of Emma used a template from Jennilyn.

New Stuff to share

This first layout is of Emma back in the spring. I used a new kit by Angie Kovacs and Amanda Geils called Sporty Girl. You know, I never realized until this weekend that Emma is a lefty batter, just like me. I never even noticed it when this photo was taken. I noticed it when she was trying to place baseball on the Wii with Jillian on Sunday.

The photo on this next layout was taken way back in 2006 at Brantwood Farms but it is still one of my favourite. For this layout I used a kit called Too Cute to Spook by Jennifer Barrette and Sweet Digi Scraps.

I love this next photo of Natalia. It was taken last fall while she was playing in the leaves. She looks like she is having a blast. This layout was created using Chrissy W's newest template challenge that you can find on her blog. The kit that I choose to use is called Harvest Fields by Little Mrs. Liz and can be found at Elemental Scraps.

I love mini albums!

I think I only ever made 1 mini album when I paper scrapped. It was a paperbag album and as cool as it turned out it just wasn't my thing. Now that I scrap digitally, I LOVE mini albums. They are so fun to do. Especially if you have cool template sets to work with. My most recent mini album is using Chrissy W's newest mini album template set called Key Plate Album. When making a mini album I usually stick to one kit and use only papers and elements from it. That way I know the book with flow seemlessly and look beautiful. For this album I used Colie's Corner's kit called Apple Orchard.

So without furthur ado, here's the results...

Lots more layouts to share.

Sheesh, I am behind in showing off my layouts here. Needless to say, I have tons to share today.

This first two layout have been created using a kit called Lil Birdie by Nikki and Jen. The one of the girls on the tube also uses a fabulous new template by Angie Kovacs from her set called Rounded Squares.

These next two layouts are fall themed. The first one is of Natalia when she was about 9 months old. The kits that I used were both from NitWit collections and were called Autumn Splendor and Not Far to Fall. Template is by Chrissy W. and can be found in her Angie'licious set.

The second fall layout is of Emma in 2006. The kit is called Girl, I'm Fallin. By Colie's Corner at Elemental Scraps.

This month, I have also grabbed the Mega Kit from the Designers at Digital Candy. The kit is called Fridge Front Treasures. Here is my first layout using this kit and another fabulous template by Angie Kovacs from her Rounded Squares set.
